The new demo has most of the features found in the latest production release. 11-19-03 - No more overlapping street or point labels! This version of Streets On A Disk includes major improvements in labeling. Street name labels are automatically placed to avoid overlap. Single line point names only draw if there is room on the screen and have the added advantage of displaying two names when two points exist at the same address. - With the new labeling technique, labels can be larger and easier to read. This makes street names easier to read in printouts and in map images displayed on a web site. - Note: To display larger labels, go to the Options / Main menu and uncheck "Autosize" for the category "local street". - By popular request, generic government road "unknown names" are no longer displayed (ie "Secondary road, undivided"...). With the numeric keypad you can scroll Up, Down, Left, Right and also diagonals using Home, PgUp, PgDn, and End. The "+" and "-" keys can be used to zoom in and out. The "*" key is also handy to refresh the screen after editing. Using CTRL F1-F12 you can access the mouse buttons on the bottom of the screen. - Street map labels are now "Proof" quality. This makes the maps easier to read. W- e have added @MACRO to programmer's interface. This allows programmers to access almost all of the menus in Streets On A Disk. This is useful when importing/exporting data to other applications. - In the programmer's interface, @PT_SEARCH_ADVANCED now includes comma delimited (CSV) output. - Bug fix: When editing point options and boundary options, in some cases the "save" button was not always working properly. This would cause the screen points or boundaries to not match the new options settings. This has been fixed. 09-19-03 - "Points Into Groups (Automatic)" menu has been added to the search menu. This major new feature has the ability to divide points into delivery groups (much better than previous versions). Groups are easier to create, view, and modify. In the Large mode, local streets will be labeled out to a zoom of 10 miles. - Note: Leaving Streets On A Disk in the "Large" mode can slow down labeling. When not printing large maps, leave the options in the "Normal" mode. - The Options / Main menu now includes a check box to "show very small labels". When checked, Streets On A Disk will attempt to label even the smallest streets. This can be helpful when very detailed printouts are required. - Streets On A Disk will no longer generate '.ST0" files for each map. This file is no longer needed. You may choose to delete any files with this extension. - The search menu "Assign Points to Service Centers" has been improved and now uses actual travel distance instead of point-to-point distance. - Map Parameters includes a new control for "map level". Check out the new site: http://www.klynas.com/tools/mainframe.htm . - We have added an all-in-one Zoom/Scroll mode. This allows you to zoom and scroll the map - using only the mouse without any additional keystrokes or menus. This new feature expands the mouse button found on the bottom of the screen from "SCR" into "SCR/ZOOM". When activated, you use the left mouse button to scroll and the right mouse button to zoom.
